Marxism and the Solidarity Economy: Toward a New Theory of Revolution

In the twenty-first century, it is time that Marxists updated conception of socialist revolution they have inherited from Marx, Engels, and Lenin. Slogans about “dictatorship proletariat” “smashing capitalist state” carrying out a social commanding heights reconstituted state are completely obsolete. this article I propose reconceptualization accomplishes several purposes: first, explains logical empirical problems with Marx’s classical theory revolution; second, revises to make it, for first time, logically consistent premises historical materialism; third, provides (Marxist) theoretical grounding activism in solidarity economy, thus partially reconciles Marxism anarchism; fourth, accounts long-term failure all attempts at so far. serving these functions, revision finally “modernizes” corrects revolution.
